Words of Wisdom Wednesday #7
After graduating college, I decided it was time to get back in shape. I'd been through too many fitness regimes, and slowly gave up on each one. Since I was still on the job hunt, I had few commitments and plenty of time for running and exercise videos. I started out walking and jogging and more walking a couple times a week and slowly built up my stamina from there. Using Nike + Running to track my runs was a big help, especially jogging around random trails. Not to mention, you get a notification every time you set a new record for yourself! If that doesn't sound like motivation, I don't know what else does.

It's been a couple months now and I'm happy to say running has officially become a new hobby. This lifestyle definitely took some getting used to, but I now feel stronger, both mentally and physically. I've also learned to make tiny sacrifices, whether I wake up earlier or save my TV shows for another day. It's not always easy, but with everything, you have your good and bad days. Sometimes I just need a good pre-workout snack, a new playlist, or some bright workout clothes to get me pumped. And once I'm finished, I'm always happy - so I'm just assuming it's a runner's high!

If you're thinking about getting into shape or a runner going through a rut, I hope you can find some inspiration in this week's Words of Wisdom. No matter your level, there's never a better time to get active. If you're in a rut, switch it up and explore somewhere new. It's the perfect time of year to play outside, so go for a hike with friends or toss around a football. Think about it, hanging out with friends and exercising at the same time? Count me in, it's a win-win situation. Hope you're all having a wonderful week, happy Wednesday lovelies!
