After baking the pumpkin banana bread, I felt inspired to bake some more. Now I'm not much of a baker or cook, but when I find an easy recipe consisting of my favorite ingredients, it's worth a try. And I'm no expert, but the worst that can happen is you burn the edges, right? Unless you're entering a baking contest or something, then you might have a problem...but I digress.

In the past, I baked cakes or cookies for special occasions, but I never tried other recipes. Like I've mentioned before, I'm a picky eater and so this plays a major part in my confession: I'm not quite a dessert person. There, I said it! Because I like my meals simple and sauces/toppings/condiments free, it sort of limits my dessert choices. What do I like? Here it goes: Sugar cookies, yes; chocolate, no; brownies, yes(well, sometimes); cheesecake, no; pumpkin pie, yes(!!); apple pie, no; etc. So I like some desserts, but only at their simplest. Even if I only prefer a few sweets, I sure enjoy the baking fun. Mostly licking the bowl at the end, but I'm sure you agree.

If you're looking for a new hobby or therapy besides shopping, why not bake a cake? There's a couple of perks involved when you think about it. First, your home will smell amazing. Second, you're in control of the ingredients you want in your dessert. And lastly, you get to enjoy the yummy goodness afterwards! Sounds amazing, right? So here's to the bakers, beginners or experts, get out that apron and whip up something delicious! Happy Wednesday and hope you found some inspiration!
