The Hunger Games - Katniss Everdeen

The Hunger Games - Katniss Everdeen Costume
Jacket || Tee || Pants || Boots || Backpack || Pin || Necklace
Hope everyone enjoyed a fun and relaxing weekend! I did almost nothing but finish season one of New Girl. Since Austin finally got some rain, Sunday was the perfect day to stay in bed, read a book, and be lazy. With The Hunger Games: Catching Fire coming to theaters next month, I thought it'd be fun to re-read the book. Plus, Katniss' character is pretty inspiring if you ask me. She's strong, smart and stands up for what she believes in. A fictional character, but a role model nonetheless. So here's some costume inspiration for the girl on fire!

Staying in line with the idea of reusing these pieces, I chose some everyday staples for her outfit. Since the army trend is still holding strong, these green pants and combat boots are an easy find. If you still haven't found a leather jacket, you can always visit a thrift store or pick up an inexpensive faux leather jacket. To top it off, put your hair in a braid and then throw on a basic tee and an old backpack for a completed look. But don't forget the mocking jay pin, it's the most important accessory!

This costume's a bit more casual, but adding those little accessories will make a difference. You're bound to get a couple compliments from Hunger Games fans young and old. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can always wear the outfit to the movie premiere next month! Any Hunger Games fans out there? Have you bought your ticket for the premiere yet? I should probably get on that sometime soon...Happy Monday!

  1. Love the idea! I'm eyeing those pants and a new casual backpack! :)

  2. I'm thinking I should get a pair too!

Thanks for reading, you've really made my day!
