24 Before 24

Hope everyone enjoyed some sunshine this weekend! I spent my time watching baseball and perhaps getting too much sun. Warning: be careful of sitting with legs crossed under the sun for too long. Instead of the normal sunburn, I now have pink patches of skin. All I can say is thank goodness for aloe vera. Still, it was a great weekend overall. I finished reading Divergent(!!!) and finally finished my 24 before 24 list. I know it's a couple weeks late, but better late than never, I always say ;)

1. Plan a road trip
2. Run a half marathon
3. Attend 3 concerts/shows
4. Host a Tea Party
5. Fly my Kite
6. Plant a kumquat tree
7. Organize my CD collection
8. Master the Cat-eye look
9. Go to Brunch
10. Create a realistic budget
11. Find the Perfect LBD
12. Pay off 2 student loans
13. Figure out my Camera
14. Try 12 new recipes
15. Decorate my desk at work
16. Attempt the 30x30 Challenge
17. Travel somewhere new
18. Learn to do a headstand
19. Purchase a Power Suit
20. Save for a Car
21. Redesign my Blog
22. Paint something(outside paint/wine classes)
23. Support Etsy artisans
24. Feng Shui my room

Have you created your own list of goals before turning a new age? What's on your list? This might be a little ambitious for my first list, but I'm so excited to try them out. A year ago I was graduating college and wondering about the future. Today I'm working at a job I love and writing a blog. I'm not sure where I'll be in a year, but I might as well enjoy the ride, right? Happy Monday, fellow dreamers!

May Wishlist

May Wishlist
Lip Balm || Spray Gel || CD || Yoga Mat || Shirt || DVD
Happy Friday!!! Sorry for the radio silence y'all, it's been a crazy week at work. A good one, but crazy nonetheless. To celebrate the end of the week, I'm sharing my monthly wishlist. I may or may not have picked up a couple of these already - couldn't help it!

Lip Balm: Thanks to Birchbox, I finally found it - the perfect lip balm. It might not contain any color, but this balm leaves my lips feeling smooth all day. After the countless temperature changes, I can finally say adios to chapped lips and start preparing for sunburned lips - it's inevitable.

Spray Gel: I love mouse. It's my go-to every morning. Recently though, I decided to try Herbal Essences' Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel. It smells wonderful, so hopefully it works just as well!

Storyline: Last week I went to Target to purchase the album and walked out with One Direction's latest album instead. I don't know what I was thinking, because now all I want is Hunter's new album. Spotify is great, but I can't play "Flashlight" on repeat while driving around town!

Yoga Mat: While creating my yoga inspired wear collage last month, I came across this lovely yoga mat. After checking the price, I couldn't get myself to include it and added a more reasonable one instead. The next day I was browsing through Marshall's for a new yoga mat and it was there, for a fraction of the price. If that's not a #fabfound, I don't know what is.

Chambray Shirt: Last summer I found the perfect shirt and then ruined it a couple months later. Till this day I have yet to find another one. Not only is it the shade I was looking for, it's on sale right now! Extra 40% off today only!

Crazy Stupid Love: Do I even need to explain this? Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carrell, etc. This movie is perfection and crazy cheap at Target. Have I mentioned how much I love Target?

What's on your wishlist this month? Anyone heard Hunter's new album? I may have just taken a break to download the album, oops. If you see a gal driving around town in heart shaped sunnies and blasting Hunter Hayes, it might just be me ;) Have a fabulous weekend fellow dreamers!

Words of Wisdom Wednesday #16

In my second week of yoga classes, I'm starting to see little improvements. I'm nowhere near doing a headstand or a perfectly balanced warrior 3, but I'm becoming aware of my breathing and losing myself in the flow of movements. I may have been skeptical after the first class, but I needed to remind myself that I signed up for a beginner's series for a reason. If I want to move further, it's important I learn the correct form and proper names of each pose. And let me tell you, those names will take me forever to learn! But like all things, I have to start somewhere.

Have you ever tried yoga? If you're looking for a neat way to clear your mind and relax the body, I highly recommend trying a class. I'll admit I thought it was cheesy at first. It's everything you've seen on television. After a couple challenging poses in last night's class, my attitude was quick to change. Each of these quotes mean something to me now and I'm so happy to share them with you today. Hope you found some inspiration, whether it's trying yoga or something new. Happy Wednesday, fellow dreamers!

"Cinco De Mayo" Guacamole Recipe

Doesn't it look tasty?
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Although Latina, I grew up in a non-traditional Mexican American family. To be honest, the holiday usually meant another school project or an excuse to throw a party. Like most places, my work is hosting a Cinco de Mayo party with all the traditional dishes, including a guacamole contest. I should admit that I've never been a fan of guacamole - mostly because the texture, but also because it's green! #pickyeaterprobs

In lieu of trying new things, I decided to enter the contest! Have I ever made it before? Nope. Is it going to taste okay? I sure hope so. What are you thinking? Yay for trying new things! Really, the worst that could happen is people get sick I don't win. And so last night, I crafted my very own guacamole recipe! I wanted to share my recipe, but then I lost track of the measurements. It was late, y'all. Still, if you're up for a guessing game and own some of these ingredients - Good Luck!

Ingredients:

4 Medium Avocados
Pan Roasted Corn
1 ripe tomato - extra ripe works too, minus the seeds.
Freshly squeezed lime juice
Spoons of JalapeƱo Juice - just enough for taste
Chopped cilantro
Chopped onion -watch out for your eyes!
Chili Powder
Salt and Pepper

In case you're wondering, I think it's terrific! Took a little while to make, but I also had no idea what I was doing. It gets easier, right? If you're brave enough, let me know how your guacamole turns out!

I Believe in Pink

via
Taking a moment to remember a special lady who lived her life with class and grace. Audrey Hepburn has always been an inspiration and one of my favorite role models. Of her various quotes, this is my absolute favorite. Believing in something is important, whatever that may be. I agree with all of these, but most of all, I Believe in Pink. Happy Birthday Audrey!
